Bosch sander range for all types of surface treatment

15 February 2017: Sanding is an essential part of the preparation required for virtually every type of surface treatment. Find out which is the right Bosch sander for your application, in combination with selecting the correct abrasive.

Bosch DIY sanders covers a range of materials, from wood to varnish, paint, roughcast, metal or plastic; an array of surfaces, from small to large; corners or edges; and flat or curved surfaces, according to Bosch Home & Garden Brand Manager Ninet Bosman.

In addition, Bosch has developed a new abrasives concept to make it easier for DIY enthusiasts to select the correct abrasive for the application at hand. This comprises three distinct categories, sorted according to grit and application.

The first is Remove (a high material removal rate, using very coarse and coarse abrasives), the second is Prepare (a light material removal work, using medium and fine abrasives), while the third is Finish (intermediate varnish sanding and keying paint blemishes, using very fine and extra fine abrasives).

“This is an easy-to-understand system that allows you to select the correct sanding paper quickly, based on the project categorisation of the abrasive,” Bosman explains. Combined with an extensive sander range, Bosch therefore offers DIY enthusiasts a complete solution for every possible sanding application.

Bosch PBS 75 A belt sander

The robust PBS 75 A belt sander has a powerful 710 W motor for a high material removal rate on large surfaces. Its sturdy housing, optimised ergonomics and compact design allow for perfect handling across all sanding applications. Integrated aluminium components ensure outstanding stability while you work, providing optimal convenience.

This belt sander attains high stock removal due to its belt speed of up to 350 m per minute. It also has an easy-to-change belt with tension lever. The automatic belt system holds the belt in the exact position during sanding, eliminating any need for manual belt alignment.

The PBS 75 A is equipped with a Lamelo micro filter, a built-in dust-extraction element that draws the dust directly into the supplied micro-filter box. This feature provides a clear view of the sanding surface, and a clean working area.

Bosch PEX 300 AE eccentric sander

The versatile PEX 300 AE is ideal for sanding paint, wood and metal. It is particularly well-suited for flat and slightly curved surfaces. Part of the ‘Compact Generation’ of random orbit sanders from Bosch, it has a range of accessories to allow it to carry out various polishing applications.

Weighing 1.5 kg, the PEX 300 AE has a powerful 270 W motor, enabling DIY enthusiasts to work quickly, especially on large surfaces. The compact and lightweight design ensures optimum handling and comfortable working. As a result, the tool can be used overhead and in tight spaces without causing fatigue.

The PEX 300 AE has an optimised, balanced fan for low vibration and smoother operation, plus a new ‘paper assist’ feature for easy and precise fixing of the sanding paper. This prevents unnecessary wear of the paper and damage to the sanded material as a result of abrasives not being mounted properly.

PSS 200 AC orbital sander

The PSS 200 AC is ideal for DIY enthusiasts looking for good-quality sanding and fast sanding progress in corners or edges, thanks to the powerful 200 W motor and compact design. Its lightweight construction and ergonomic design, featuring Softgrip, allows smooth and fatigue-free handling, for both right- and left-handers. Additionally, the low vibration feature guarantees maximum running smoothness for safe working.

The PSS 200 AC features a magnesium sanding plate for a durable extra-large sanding surface. It also features a special Velcro-type fastening system for easy changing of sanding sheets. A sanding sheet clamping system with clamp lever allows for easy and convenient changing of clamp-on sanding paper.

PSM 160 A multi-sander

The PSM 160 A is a powerful all-rounder combining an orbital and iron sander for sanding and polishing along edges, in corners, and on both small and large surfaces. This is due to the iron-shaped sanding plate that can get into tricky, hard-to-reach places.

The front sanding plate, combined with the rear section, ensures that DIY enthusiasts can tackle larger surfaces within a short space of time. This efficient two-part design means that the multi-sander can tackle an array of different sanding and polishing tasks with ease.

Furthermore, the delta-shaped front part of the sanding plate can also be rotated, ensuring that the sanding paper can be used efficiently from all sides. This means the PSM 160 A has a lifespan three times longer than tools with fixed sanding plates.
