The company introduced the latest SHRM-e Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heat pump air-conditioning system from Toshiba at launch events in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

The countrywide launch events were attended by Ravi Hegde (GM, AHI Carrier FZC), Scott Meikle (MD, AHI South Africa), Jean-Francois Hendrickx (Sales & Marketing Director, Toshiba EMEA), Yuji Nishi (Sales Manager, TCTC Global Sales), and Martin Crute (Senior Project Engineer, Toshiba EMEA).

Meikle described the distributorship as “the latest feather-in-the-cap” for AHI Carrier South Africa (Pty) Ltd., a well-established leader in the local HVAC sector. The company has shown consistent year-on-year growth since 2011, with a number of high-profile projects under its belt in the region.

Toshiba Corporation, a diversified manufacturer of electronic and electrical products and systems, was established in 1875. It entered into a Joint Venture with Carrier Corporation in 1999 to form the Toshiba Carrier Corporation. This was aimed at boosting the company’s competitiveness by means of strategic cooperation from a global perspective.

Carrier is one of the world’s largest HVAC companies, while Toshiba is a leader in the residential and light commercial segment. Toshiba has prioritised design excellence and innovation for the past 30 years under the banner of ‘No Compromise. Only Quality’.

“Therefore the addition of the Toshiba range of air-conditioners to the product line-up of AHI Carrier South Africa will enhance its ‘total solutions’ approach significantly. It will also open up new market segments for both companies, leading to increased market share and a greater footprint throughout the region,” Meikle concluded.
